Favorite Places to Travel

There are a few places that I really do like to travel.  Some are close by and some are a bit farther.

The Barn:  The barn is my safe heaven. It is a place that I can go to forget what is stressing me out and pretty much let go of the real world for a few hours.  My best friend lives there, a horse named The High Flying Don (Donnie for short). He has been my companion for just for seven years now and we know each other inside and out. The barn is a place where the smell of hey, straw, leather, and wood come together and make for a magnificent atmosphere.

Ireland: I have been to Ireland twice now. Once to tour around with my parents.  That trip was nice and we saw a lot of green lands and many neet castles and other landmarks.  Though we never did really get off the main road.  For my second trip to Ireland, I rode horses for a week through the country side.  This was amazing! Getting to see the inside of forests and swim through rivers and lakes with a horse. The experience could not have been more amazing and i got to see a part of Ireland that I am sure I will not get to see again, even if I really want too!

A picture is "Worth 1000" words

Can't Change Their Spots
Artist: Shorra

In todays world, the natural habitats of many animals are disappearing extremely quickly.  It is in this way that I have picked an image from Worth 1000 having to do with animals, there habitat and the affect that could end up happening.  Can't  Change Their Spots is a wonderful art piece that show this.  The animal depicted is in its natural habitat, the Leopard is an endangered big cat that lives in Africa and uses trees and other high ground areas to both survy its territory and to stay safe from large predators.  Here the Leopard descends from its post, it is with this motion portrayed that the animal puts itself in danger just moments after this when its paws are on the earth.  Moment later it could be the hunted, or maybe it will be the hunter.  Though the Leopard is not the largest predator in Africa, its biggest enemy is not from the other four legged animals.  Its biggest predator is from the two legged human variety.  Being hunted for the healing properties parts of the animal is said to posses in western medican to the destruction of its habitat.
The Leopard portrayed here has lost its body, mostly, only the ghostly portray of what the great cat once was.  Its spots, the markings that people have learned around the world, haunting its past land where it once roamed free.
A beautiful animal, such as the Leopard deserves to live, deserves to hunt, deserves to have its habitat protected where it can roam free, and we as humans need to give this magnificent creature that, otherwise one day our decedents might only see them in pictures like this.
